Romance and Dating Scams  

These types of scammers are found on dating apps and social media. They portray themselves as someone looking for a serious relationship. They take their time bonding with their victims and even share their personal details and things about themselves that will make them sound genuine. Once they have gained their victim’s trust, they will recite an emotional story saying they require financial assistance for medical care or some other serious reasons. Scammers play on their victim’s emotions to get them to pay for the portrayed emergency.
